TEMAS DE TRABAJO EN EL TALLER
·
As a leader in your organisation - or as an HR or L&D
professional responsible for senior leadership development -
there are several reasons why you might choose executive
coaching for yourself or your most valued executives.
· Managing
high levels of uncertainty and complexity and the relentless
pace of organisational change have become the norm for 21st
century business leaders. Mergers, joint ventures,
partnerships or a re-organisation of one sort or another are
common features of life in every sector and 'initiative
overload' has become a frequent problem.
· Matrix
structures, multi-functional teams, virtual team-working and
special projects also make new demands on the leadership
skills of the executives involved. Meanwhile markets are
becoming ever more competitive. We understand the tasks and
pressures that leaders face and know that excellent 'people
skills' are an essential leadership attribute, not a 'nice
to have'.
The quality of executive coaching that Sandler Lanz provide
represents a highly cost-effective way to invest in key
people. It is a flexible form of intervention which can
include senior individuals and / or their teams. It offers
rapid and impressive results: accelerating the development
of the high-performers and improving performance in specific
areas where needed

Catherine Sandler
Catherine has nearly 20 years'
experience of consulting to organisations and individuals as
an expert in the human dimension of workplace life. She has
worked extensively in the field of leadership development,
group dynamics and the management of organisational change
and conflict.
Since 1997, when she
founded Sandler Consulting, Catherine has specialised in
coaching senior executives and top teams, primarily at Board
and Director level. She
has established a reputation as a first-class executive
coach within the business sector and a leading practitioner
in the field.
Catherine's coaching
practice has grown rapidly via client recommendation and she
has built a small hand-picked team of highly-experienced
coaches. Together they offer individual and team coaching
across a wide range of organisations. In March 2007,
Catherine was delighted to welcome her close colleague Kate
Lanz into partnership and Sandler Lanz was formed. Catherine
speaks regularly at seminars and conferences on executive
coaching, both in the UK and abroad. She designs and
delivers masterclasses in coaching for fellow practitioners,
HR directors and senior managers and is among the country's
most experienced supervisors of executive coaches. Catherine
has worked as coach, consultant, tutor and lecturer at a
number of leading business-education and consulting
institutions. She has taught on a wide range of
programmes for international executives, most notably at
London Business School's Centre for Management Development
since 1993, at INSEAD since 2000 and more
recently on the Coaching and Consulting for Change programme
run jointly by HEC and Oxford University’s Saïd Business
School.
She has also worked in
different capacities over the years with the Tavistock
Clinic (which has a worldwide reputation in the field of
psychological thinking and practice).
These include associate consultant at the Tavistock
Consultancy Service, tutor on the Clinic's Masters in
Organisational Consultancy and supervisor on the new PhD
programme. Other educational roles include tutoring MBA
students in management practice at the Judge Institute,
Cambridge University. Catherine is a trained and experienced
psychological counsellor (with a diploma from the Department
of Counselling & Psychotherapy, Regent’s College, London).
She has a doctorate from Oxford University.
Catherine combines
psychological skills with extensive business knowledge to
bring special qualities to her coaching. She brings clarity,
depth and real practical value to
each session. She has an unusual ability to go straight to
the heart of an issue while creating a warm rapport with her
clients. This enables her to offer them a safe space in
which their leadership thinking and practice can be
challenged and explored. Her aim is always to help clients
become significantly more effective, confident and satisfied
in delivering their business tasks. As part of this process
Catherine makes use of a number of developmental tools
designed to increase self-awareness and 'emotional
intelligence'. In particular she is a specialist in the use
of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)® and 360 degree
feedback. Catherine was invited to become a founding member
(in both Coach and Supervisor categories) of the Association
for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS)
which was launched in 2005 to set standards for the
executive coaching profession in Britain. She is also an
invited member of WABC (Worldwide
Association of Business Coaches), based in North America.
Catherine was a speaker at its 10th Anniversary Conference
in Vancouver in May 2007 and has been invited to contribute
to several other coaching conferences and programmes as
speaker or visiting faculty during 2008, both in the UK and
abroad.
The impact of Catherine's coaching was recently described by
a longstanding CEO as "...an invaluable support. Catherine
has a formidable intellect, and is also a very
good judge of people. She clearly has a great range and
depth of experience that she can draw on to help those she
is coaching." Another Board Director client confirmed that
she had "...benefited greatly from Catherine's expertise,
her professionalism, and her ability to help with specific
situations and issues, as well as with more fundamental
skills development."Catherine's client list includes, among
others, ABN Amro, Barclays Bank, Barclays Capital, BP, Cap
Gemini, Ernst & Young, GlaxoSmithKline, Herbert Smith, HSBC,
John Lewis Partnership, Waitrose, Lehman Brothers, Lloyds
Register Rail, Lutron, Masstock, Morgan Stanley, Societé
Générale, Syngenta and WD-40 among many
others. Clients in the not-for-profit sector include the
Metropolitan Police, NHS, central government (OGC) and Save
the Children UK
